I love Questions!

I was totally that kid in school that constantly raised my hand, and I firmly believe that the only stupid questions are the ones that go unasked.

FAQ 6

Q: Do you do classes?

FAQ 7

Q: Do you let your kids into the studio?

A: I don’t have much say in the matter when they’re 2 and 4 years old, so yes! As I remodel my space I’ve been creating a kids’ corner in hopes of keeping them out of “mommy’s special stuff”. Kids are so life-giving to the creative process! I love their innocence and playfulness - they are the epitome of genuine creativity.

FAQ 8

Q: Where did your style come from?

A: There’s no direct answer to this question because I refuse to put a label on my style, but ultimately, it comes down to freedom. I like to scribble and let my mind create conclusions. The scribbles forming something the mind can read is a sort of magical process that I don’t actually have much control over. My high school art teacher showed it to me and I had a painting teacher in college that loosened up my lines even more. There’s something very freeing in the empty spaces of scribbles, and vivid color intertwines. In an age when we’ve allowed our brains to live on cruise control, I seek things that re-engage the creative process and wake up the imagination.

FAQ 8

FAQ 9

Q: What kind of artist are you?

A: If I must add a title to my creativity, I want to call it “no rules art”. “Mixed Media” would probably be appropriate. I dabble in all things creative - and not all creativity is artsy, btw. I’m a borderline hoarder of art supplies and creative ingredients because I just can’t stand to see something potentially creatively useful go to waste. I’ve been “traditionally” trained in very little, but just enough to delight in the ability to explore whatever crosses my path.

FAQ 9

FAQ 10

Q: What’s your favorite pastime?

A: That’s a tough question... I’ve been blessed with a very fun and adventurous life. Anything with friends, preferably some live music, around water in some form - either snow or fluid, and a well-stocked cooler (snacks are just as important as libations!).

FAQ 10

FAQ 11

Q: How are you going to save the world?

A: By being creative. I’m not exactly sure how it’s going to be done, but I know that creativity is going to lead us there. I believe in the power of creative thinking to solve pretty much anything. It’s my opinion that the shit show we’re experiencing as humans is a result of the dying art of creative thinking, so I’m on a mission to encourage everyone to flex their creative muscles in whatever way they can.

FAQ 11
